Studio 1A Sydney will officially commence Wet Plate Workshops in Sydney September 2013. Between now and then wet plate artists Christopher Getts and Pania Newport will be giving free demonstrations and allowing the public to watch them photograph portraits and still life's using this 19th century photographic process. The first demonstration will be delivered to students of the prestigious CATC design school located in the Sydney Rocks area. Students will observe the Wet Plate Artists as they make 2 wet plate portraits.
This is expected to be the beginning of a long term relationship between Studio 1A Sydney and CATC as Studio 1A Sydney sponsors their graduation shows and CATC allows demonstrations and the option of workshops at their institution. Graduates of CATC receive student rates on all workshops and studio hire for the first 12 months after graduation. They also receive a 15% discount on all workshops and studio hire as part of the CATC Alumni.
